A Nation’s Symbols Belong to Its People
On national identity, democratic consent, and why symbols must be chosen, not imposed.
On national identity, democratic consent, and why symbols must be chosen, not imposed.

A national symbol belongs to the people it represents.
Its legitimacy does not come from government decree, political convenience, or historical inertia. It comes from consent.
When a symbol is freely chosen, it unites.
When it is imposed, it divides.
This site exists to advance one clear goal: reopening the national conversation on Canada’s flag and the principle that symbols must be chosen by the people.
I am not currently running for office. I am writing, publishing, and engaging publicly to influence that conversation. If future political action becomes the right vehicle, it will serve that goal.
